Hopefully everyone had a great thanksgiving. Alright...lets get back to business. I know Finals are coming up >.< but dont let that stop you from coming and hanging out with your fellow players. After all you gotta have a break in between studying right =P.

How did you come to use your main?

Pikachu is my main. I chose him because I think pikachu is just way too super awesome. That and people say I have an odd obsession with him. lol

My main currently is Meta Knight, although I've using Zelda a lot. The funny thing is I go through phrases of using different charactors all the time!

When I first got the game I was maining (word?) Pit because he was one of the new characters that I was excited about. At the same time I was using Lucario (and Pkmn Trainer from time to time). After a while I arrived at Zelda/ Sheik, this was because of the versatility between the two (but mostly because of the flashy powers lol) and Pkmn Trainer is just drenched in awesomesauce.

ReplyDeleteMy first main is Sonic. I've just started using Ike this semester, and am putting him as my other main. So now I have two mains (thinking of making Ness and Kirby as secondaries, but may as well try some other characters too).
Ike is amazing when you know how to use him right (All the Jab combos and smashes and specials and super-armors and spikes and FE team-up and taunts and etc etc etc). The biggest challenge is learning to land attacks precisely so that the lags don't open me for punishment (which is seriously a really hard job; Ike has way too much lags).
But to be honest, I prefer Sonic over Ike since I grew up with Sonic (never was much into nintendo except for super mario bros.), but there's still so much I need to learn to be effective with him, and rarely feel like doing that, therefore I practice and play Ike.

ReplyDeleteWhen the game first came out I tried looking for the perfect character in which I could resort to moves that would give me an advantage on the battlefield (spamming)
First started off with pikachu and constantly used his thunder but found out that could be very punishable
Then I switched to fox and played online. after like 50 matches I realise I needed a character that has projectiles that could stun as well as having quick and strong moves. And thats when I found wolf.
But looking back then I was terrible with him, I didn't get good until I started playing at SDSU which took like 2 months (which is a whole other story how i discovered the place)
Now I am trying to master metaknight but realize that he doesnt do so well in free for all but is amazing in 1v1.
So I'm thinking I might use wolf for free4all and metaknight in tourneys

I first started with King Dedede. He made me laugh the way he was so fat and how crazy his attacks were. He was my main for a good year and a half.
ReplyDeleteThen I purchased Metroid Zero Mission for my GameBoyAdvance. It was only $5 on ebay and I read reviews that it was a really good game. Turns out it was and I really enjoyed kicking alien butt with Samus. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to check out Samus in Brawl.
As big as a battle as it is using her, she's really fun and I enjoyed discovering strategies with her. She is still my main.
Then while practicing with her, the Super Bowl of Super Smash Bros occured and that was GENESIS. It had both Brawl and Melee, but Melee was the main attraction because the #1 player from Europe was coming to try and take on all of the United States. They mained Peach, wrecked all of the Americans except for 2 (he beat the #2 player in the world in a very close match, then beat the #1 player in the world in match. He was 1 hit away from winning the entire tournament).
If you have time check out Armada Genesis and watch his Peach wreck Mango/M2k and DaShizWiz.
It was so awesome watching his Peach fight that I wanted to use her in Brawl and it turns out she's really fun. Now she's a secondary for me when Samus can't beat certain characters (literally CAN'T, like Olimar).
I'll still choose D3 if I need to win.
I just like characters with weird attack styles I suppose.
I chose metaknight because he fits my personality and qualities (for the most part). I don't have a second but kirby might be soon. I play the game NOT TO SPAM, so basically i try to learn ALL the moves and use it in battle.
